Aromatherapy for Pregnancy

It is never easy to fight disease or to fight pain, especially knowing that giving birth is the most painful process of all for women, although the joy coming with it is also unmeasurable. Therefore, in order to reduce this pain, there is aromatherapy for pregnancy, defined by some people as "the skilled and controlled use of essential oils for physical and emotional health and well being" or "the concept of healing with aromatic substances." Besides, aromatherapy can solve other problems, too, such as infertility and assure baby health, as well.

There are long discussions whether essential oils present any risks or not. Some specialists have proved that they can lead to abortions, uterine contractions or can affect patients suffering from diabetes. The controversial aspect is due to the fact that those oils may or may not have been ingested and the doses are unknown. As far as the pregnancy pain is concerned, some specialists claim that in serious cases if no such methods are used in order to calm, relax and positively influence a mother's pregnancy, she may also end up with other problems, too, like bad nutrition or so, which would lead to the birth of an unhealthy child, who will not receive very good breast milk and will need baby vitamins. This is only one example.

As far as essential oils are concerned, once again, they give the mother a better smell and relax her. They balance the hormones and even give the mother a more positive Pregnant Womanapproach to being pregnant, to having a child and, in fact, to everything that has to do with her child at the moment of the pregnancy and after it. They should not be administered in the first twelve weeks of pregnancy and after that they should be used in small amounts. Diffusing essential oils in a room is said to be the safest aromatherapy for pregnancy method, while if a mother wants to be massaged, then she should dilute the essential oil with a carrier one. Do not use essential oils if there are any family allergies.

Aromatherapy is also a method of treating infertility, together with vitamin supplements or herbs. When it comes to vitamin supplements, for example, everyone knows that vitamins are very important for the hormonal balance to be created and to cover up the nutritional deficiencies. This is their role when it comes to infertility, just like the same principle is valid in the case of children. Each time they have any such problems, because of various reasons, they are given children's vitamins to recreate the balance they need. As for aromatherapy as a treatment, the aromas affect the nervous system and, since infertility sends women in emotional distress, the calming effect of aromatherapy is perfect. Also, spice apple, for example, reduces blood pressure.

All in all, aromatherapy helps mothers carry a healthy pregnancy for both them and their babies. The only thing is that they must use the right essential oils, because not all of them are good. The use of some of them can cause serious problems to the baby and then it would really work as therapy anymore.
